Brief Explanation of Need
Yavapai County has developed and is refining justice and mental health initiatives to improve and assist people with mental illness and substance abuse disorders. In additions, they are assisting people in the criminal justice system by connecting those people with appropriate treatment providers upon early release.  This agreement expands the process of collecting the data to ensure the success of all the programs and will be paid with special funds.
 
Yavapai County has developed and are refining justice and mental health initiatives to improve outcomes from people with mental illnesses or co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse disorders who are in the criminal justice system by connecting those people with appropriate treatment providers upon early release.  This agreement continues the process of collecting the data to ensure the success of all the programs to assist the mentally  ill and other disorders within the detention environment. 
 
In October 2016 Yavapai County was the recipient of the Justice and Mental Health Collaboration Program grant administered by the US Department of Justice's Bureau of Justice Assistance.  The duration of the agreement is from October 1, 2016 through September 30, 2019 and the cost of this agreement will be paid by this Grant.

As recipient of this grant, Yavapai County is developing and refining justice and mental health initiatives to improve outcomes from people with mental illnesses or co-occurring mental illness and substance abuse disorders who are in the criminal justice system by connecting those people with appropriate treatment providers upon early release.  The total cost related to this agreement is $20,000.00.
