- Consider approval for the Human Resources department to enter into an agreement with Public Sector Personnel Consultants to conduct a county-wide Classification and Compensation study.

Brief Explanation of Need
A sound compensation program is a critical component of an organization's strategy for attracting and retaining well-qualified employees. Reviewing the organization's compensation program regularly is a common business practice in order to assess pay against the market and ensure the organization is remaining competitive. Several internal and external factors, including the recent changes to Arizona's minimum wage, are creating some challenges for County departments under the existing compensation program/structure. In an effort to address those issues/challenges and ensure the County remains competitive into the future, Human Resources is recommending a comprehensive Classification and Compensation Study be completed by Public Sector Personnel Consultants. The scope of the project would include a Salary and Benefits Survey and a Classification review of all County job titles. The project would take approximately 5 months to complete and costs would not exceed $70,000.00.
