The State Legislature has considered, but failed to adopt, legislation that would prohibit texting while driving throughout the State of Arizona. Therefore, local jurisdictions must determine individually whether or not to adopt an Ordinance to prohibit texting while driving. If approved by the Board of Supervisors, this Ordinance would be effective throughout the unincorporated areas of Yavapai County, and within the jurisdictional boundaries of any City or Town that chooses to adopt the Ordinance.
The Ordinance and Notice to the Public were published in The Verde Independent and The Daily Courier on September 5, 2018. |
