Public Works - Approve purchase agreement for the acquisition of right-of-way on East Sunset Lane. YC Contract No. 2019-003 (District 5 - Supervisor Smith)
Brief Explanation of Need
On October 5, 2016, the Board approved the execution of an Intergovernmental Agreement (IGA) with the Town of Prescott Valley and authorized $3,687,500.00 in funding for the Sunset Lane Improvement Project. In order to complete the project, Public Roadway Easements and Sight Distance Easements must be obtained from certain property owners with parcels adjacent to East Sunset Lane.

The design engineers have identified the need for a Public Roadway Easement and Sight Distance Easement on the property at 3170 N. Cedar Springs Lane (APN 103-07-412). The Public Roadway Easement is necessary to install a curb ramp at the corner of North Cedar Springs Lane and East Sunset Lane in compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The Sight Distance Easement is necessary to provide the traveling public an unobstructed view of the roadway intersection adjacent to the property for the purpose of traffic safety. The property owners have agreed to sell required easements.

The Public Works Department respectfully requests that the Board of Supervisors approve the execution of the purchase agreement.
